Sculptural Green Ceramic Mug with White Loop Handle – 200 ml

This sculptural green ceramic mug is a one-of-a-kind functional object handmade from dark stoneware clay in my Vilnius studio. Its irregular body is covered with layered green, turquoise and earthy glazes, while the expressive white handle turns the cup into a small ceramic sculpture.

A Functional Mug with the Presence of a Sculpture

The form is intentionally organic rather than perfectly symmetrical. The lower edge moves in soft waves, leaving parts of the dark clay exposed, while the glaze gathers, flows and changes colour across the surface.

The glossy white handle is shaped from several interconnected loops. It resembles a knot, a bone structure or a gesture frozen in clay. Depending on the angle, it appears playful, anatomical or slightly strange. This tension between usefulness and sculpture gives the mug its particular character.

Colour, Texture and Movement

The glaze combines deep forest green, turquoise, muted blue and earthy brown. Its surface changes under different light: some areas appear dark and almost black, while others reveal mineral blue-green details.

The mug was not designed as a neutral piece of tableware. It is a tactile object made for someone who values irregular forms, visible traces of the hand and ceramics that retain the unpredictability of fire.
